Uses of oxalic acid

1. Oxalic acid is mainly used as a reducing agent and bleaching agent. It is used in the production of antibiotics and camphor, as well as in the extraction of rare metals, solvents for dye reduction, tanning agents, etc. In addition, oxalic acid can also be used for cleaning and treatment of metal surfaces, extraction of rare earth elements, textile printing and dyeing, leather processing, and preparation of catalysts.

2. When oxalic acid is used as a reducing agent, it is mainly used in the organic synthesis industry to produce chemicals such as resorcinol, pentaerythritol, cobalt oxalate, nickel oxalate, gallic acid, etc. In the plastic industry, it is used to produce polyvinyl chloride, amino plastics, urea-formaldehyde plastics, lacquer sheets, etc.
